Two premier snorkeling spots near Avalon are Lovers Cove and the Casino Dive Park. Both locations are Marine Protected Areas, home to a diverse array of friendly marine life. At Lovers Cove, you can admire colorful orange garibaldi, calico bass, and sheepshead as they glide through the clear waters and take advantage of a beach level entry and picnic tables. The Casino Dive Park offers similar wonders, with opportunities to encounter these striking fish and possibly spot a playful sea lion or the impressive giant black sea bass.
Before embarking on a snorkeling adventure, it's essential to be comfortable swimming and navigating deeper waters. With the right equipment and guidance from Catalina Divers Supply, you're all set for a memorable exploration of Catalina Island’s breathtaking marine ecosystems.
