Open Water Diver

Unlike many programs that begin and end in a swimming pool, all of our dive classes on Catalina give you ocean experience in the clear, protected waters of the Island. Our instructors are highly qualified, enthusiastic, and can be depended upon to maintain your safety and develop your diving skills to their full potential. Designed for water people who want to complete their class quickly, the two-day open water class requires a commitment from physically fit individuals with experience snorkeling and spending time in the water.

What you need to know

  • Prerequisite: Must be able to swim comfortably in deep water

  • All gear provided

  • Two options: eLearning + dives or referral program

  • Three day commitment after eLearning

  • Minimum age: 10

  • Group class: $995 per person | solo class: $1185 per person

Advanced Diver

The Advanced Open Water course builds on what you’ve learned and introduces you to new activities and new ways to have fun while scuba diving.​

You'll increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. Get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn with a PADI instructor.

  • Prerequisite: Open Water certification

  • Two-day course that includes eLearning

  • Five dives

  • Minimum Age: 15 | 12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver

  • Group class: $770 per person | Solo class: $880 per person

Avelo

Recreational Avelo Diver

Get certified in the latest revolution in dive technology – the Avelo System​

The Recreational Avelo Diver (RAD) specialty course teaches everything a diver needs to know to feel the freedom of diving Avelo. ​

This two-part course consists of an online learning component and two in-water dives with an Avelo instructor. 

What you need to know

  • Prerequisite: Open Water certification

  • Approximately two day course

  • Equipment included

  • Online learning necessary, which may be completed in advance

  • 1-day, two dives $550 per person | 2-day, four dives $800 per person | 3-day, six dives $1,050 per person

Rescue Diver

Rescue Diver

Learn to rise to challenges and master them. Most divers find this course both demanding and rewarding, and at the end, say it's the best course they've ever taken.

You may be able to earn college credit for the PADI Rescue Diver Course.

  • Prerequisite: Advanced Open Water

  • Learn self rescue and emergency management

  • CPR and first aid classes training required

  • Two-day course

  • ELearning must be completed in advance

  • Group class $825 per person | Solo class: $935 per person

Master Scuba Diver

Master Scuba Diver

Join the best of the best in recreational scuba diving and live the dive life as a PADI Master Scuba Diver. The Master Scuba Diver rating places you in an elite group of respected divers who have earned this rating through both significant experience and scuba training. Fewer than two percent of divers ever achieve this rating.

  • Prerequisite: Open Water, Advanced & Rescue Diver

  • Must have logged at least 50 dives including 5 PADI specialty diver certifications

  • ELearning required

  • Three-day course, includes six dives
